About
The M.A. thesis' aim is to reconstruct traffic routes from napatan to medieval times within the sudanese western desert, north and south of the region of the Wadi Howar, using remote sensing data (mostly satellite images), survey data and historical maps. One of the major tasks of the thesis is to investigate the integration of the fortress of Gala Abu Ahmed (Wadi Howar) and the medieval site FJE 2010-1 (Gebel al-Ain) into ancient traffic systems.
