About

Within the field of late modern European history, my work focuses on questions of spatiality, knowledge and transcendence in varying configurations and settings including world’s fairs and expositions, outer space and extraterrestrial life, miracles and the occult, and emotionality and sexuality; as well as the theory and history of historiography. In principle I strive to combine rigorous empirical research with innovative methodological approaches, in which analysis and theory inspire, stimulate and complement each other.
